Xiao Yan's father and patriarch of the Xiao family.

Xiao Ning
Xiao Ning is his cousin. After Xiao Yan fell to 3-star Duan Qi, he was one of the people who mocked him. As Xiao Yan was the only guy in the clan with whom Xun Er was close, it keeps the hatred towards the former. This hatred was only increased after losing to Xiao Yan during the Ritual of Coming of Age. However, after seeing the strength of Xiao Yan and after maturation in Jia Nan Academy, he began to have a friendly relationship with Xiao Yan.
Xiao Mei
When they were young she held the same position as Gu Xun Er in Xiao Yan's heart. When he lost his talent she abandoned him as she felt there was no need to associate with someone like him in the future. When his talent returned she wanted to thing to return like they were in the past, but Xiao Yan would never place those who abandoned him close to himself so as not to have it happen again. She regretted her actions, but there was nothing she could do to change the past.

Yao Chen
Xiao Yan first met Yao Lao when Yao Lao spoke to him through his mother's ring after the confrontation with his fiancee Na Lan Yan Ran. Xiao Yan had been bearing in mind the favor that Hai Bodong had given him in the Jia Ma Empire by using all of his strength to help him escape twice. The ‘Spiritual Recovery Purple Pill’, which Xiao Yan owed Hai Bodong, caused a knot in his heart.
Wu Hao
At first, Xiao Yan and Wu Hao fought against one another in the outer branch competition, but to due to Wu Hao's personality he corroborated with Xiao Yan when they first go to the inner branch. Wu Hao has since become Xiao Yan's friend and comrade.

He would help help refine the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit so she could ascend to become the Dragon Empress. Later when the Northern Dragon King attempt to kill her and become the Emperor he showed up and killed him. He would leave her Origin Qi to follow him once she became a Dou Di. Through their interactions with each other in the novel you can tell they have romantic feelings for each other.
Ya Fei
Xiao Yan would come to her auction house in disguise to sell Alchemists Pills when he needed money to buy ingredients. Once she learned who he was their friendship became closer and she stated to have feelings towards him as an older sister. It wasn't till he retuned to the Jia Ma Empire for the Three Year Agreement that she realized that she has fallen in love with him. This was especially shown when he rescued her and her clan from the Misty Cloud Sect. He would return at the end of the novel to have her move to Wu Tan City to accompany him.
Enemies
Han Feng
Han Feng is Yao Laos' former pupil and was the main cause of Yao Laos' death. This makes him Xiao Yans' predecessor as the disciple Lao Yao. He was later killed by Xiao Yan as revenge for his masters' death.
It was really unexpected that Han Feng also practiced the ‘Flame Mantra’. Although it was merely an incomplete version, it still caused Xiao Yan to possess a somewhat strange feeling. That was… he must kill the latter!

He saved her numerous times when both her and Yun Yun were in dire straights and he held no animosity towards her.
