She is introduced when Xiao Yan went to take the alchemist test in Black Rock City. She misjudged Xiao Yan abilities when she first met him. During the test he took longer to finish then that rest of the testers as the he pill he had to created was an Amassing Strength Pill that is considered a Tier 1 High level pill. She was dismissive till it was revealed the pill formula he was given. She was shocked when he requested to take the Tier Alchemist test right away. She was not allowed to see the test in person and found he passed right away. Ao Tuo and Fu Lan Ke told her there will always be someone that is higher so don't look down on someone like Xiao Yan. He had hide his abilities so the first impression she had about him was wrong.[3][4]
